Purpose

For new players to develop ball control while practicing passing and setting. It also helps develop team camaraderie

Setup

  • Divide players into groups of 4-6. Have each group stand in a circle about 10 feet in diameter.
  • Give each group a ball.

How it works

  1. One player in each circle tosses the ball to another player who passes or sets the ball.
  2. Another player then passes or sets the ball and so on for as long as the group can keep the ball in the air.
  3. The group then repeats this process.

Coaching Tips

  • Each player should call the ball before their hit.
  • For a more advanced drill, have players call out another players name when passing or setting. That player then takes the next hit.
