Purpose
To help players develop a variety of hitting skills.
Setup
- Have players line up in hitting lines behind the 10 foot line according to their position (right-side, middle, left-side).
- A setter positions themselves at the net
- The coach stands in the back row with a cart of balls.
How it works
- The coach tosses balls one at a time to the setter who sets to the players in each line one at a time.
- Players take turns attacking. Each player should tip their first two sets. Then, push their next two sets. Then, rolls their next two sets. Lastly, the players should swing on their final two sets.
- The hitter shags each ball they hit and places the ball back in the coach’s cart.
Notes
- For more advanced players, task them with tipping, pushing, rolling, or hitting to particular spots on the court.
