Purpose
This activity helps hitters learn to transition from defense to offense.
Setup
- Attacker stands at net
- Player B (or a coach) stands on the other side of the net and holds a ball just above the net
- A setter stands at the net
- Player C (or a coach) stands in the back row behind the setter with a basket of balls
How it works
- The attacker jumps and pushes against the ball held by player B.
- As they land, Player C tosses a ball to the setter who sets the attacker.
- The attacker transitions back to the 10ft line, approaches, and attacks.
- Repeat this 5-6 times and then change attackers.
Coaching Tips
- The repetition of this drill helps reinforce the flow of shifting from defense to offense.
