Purpose
This helps novice players develop ball control in passing
Setup
- Organize players in three receiving lines. A coach stands near the net in the setter’s location with a basket of balls.
How it works
- Coach tosses a ball to the first player in one of the lines who passes the ball back to the coach.
- If the passer doesn’t return the ball so the coach can catch it, they shag their ball and place it back in the basket.
- The passing player then rotates to the back of the next line.
Coaching Tips
- Encourage players to aim for the setter’s location.
- Emphasize moving so they get behind the ball and can point their arms toward the setter.
