Purpose

To improve players’ contact with the ball when hitting

Setup

  • Each player gets a ball and stands 5-10 feet from the net.

How it works

  1. Hold ball at arms length. Toss ball slightly above head and strike ball downward to hit the ground just in front of the wall. The ball should ricochet from the ground to the wall and bounce upward so the player can hit the ball again toward the ground.

Coaching Tips

  • This takes practice to do consistently. Encourage players to continue trying and not get frustrated if they don’t get it at first.
